Named Insured

Definition

The individual or entity specifically identified by name on the insurance policy as the primary policyholder. The named insured has the broadest coverage rights and is responsible for paying premiums and reporting claims.

Growing Up Covered

In Zach’s Words

The named insured is the VIP on the policy — the person or business whose name is right there on page one. They get the full coverage rights, they pay the premiums, and they're the ones who can make changes to the policy. Everyone else is either an additional insured or just along for the ride.
