Inland Marine Insurance

Definition

A type of property insurance that covers goods in transit, movable property, and specialized equipment that may not be adequately covered under standard commercial property policies. Despite the name, it covers land-based property.

Growing Up Covered

In Zach’s Words

The name is super confusing — it has nothing to do with boats. Inland marine covers stuff that moves around or is specialized. Your contractor tools on a job site, expensive equipment you transport, art being shipped. If it's valuable and it leaves your building, inland marine probably covers it.
