Dwelling Coverage
Definition
The portion of a homeowners insurance policy that covers the physical structure of the home, including walls, roof, foundation, and attached structures like a garage, against covered perils.
In Zach’s Words
“Dwelling coverage is the backbone of your homeowners policy — it covers the house itself. Not your stuff inside it (that's personal property), not your detached shed (that's other structures). The actual building you live in. If a fire burns it down, dwelling coverage pays to rebuild it.”
